I received my BA from Oberlin College in Greek, Latin, and Comparative Literature in 2022. During my time as a undergraduate, I developed an interest in trauma theory, especially through a feminist lens. My undergraduate capstone and honors thesis examined the numerous ways in which female trauma is presented in Seneca’s Troades. As I pursue my PhD, I aim to expand my interests in trauma studies, feminist studies, and queer theory by working on a dissertation examining supernatural or “monstrous” women in Latin epic poetry. I have written and presented on topics such as Euripides’ Trojan Women, the Sybil in the Aeneid and the Metamorphoses, and the abortion poems in Ovid’s Amores.
