Cassandra Ball
About:
I received a BA in Ancient Greek (Minors in Latin & Anthropology) from Brigham Young University in 2017. While the bulk of my undergraduate research dealt with constructions of femininity in Imperial Roman literature and Classical Reception in modern media, I also spent two seasons excavating at the Ad-Deir Plateau in Petra, where I focused on the analysis of Nabataean pottery. After graduating, I spent 8 years as a secondary Latin teacher before coming to UCSB to pursue a doctorate. My research interests include the poetry of the early Roman empire, Classical reception, and Classical pedagogy.
