Brett Collins

Graduate Student
HSSB 4062

Brett decided to attend UCSB’s Classics program after completing degrees in Classics and History at the University of South Florida and a post-bacc degree at University of Pennsylvania. He chose UCSB due to its challenging yet nurturing environment and the wide representation of interests among the faculty. Although a new student, he is eagerly looking forward to immersing himself in the department and gaining a greater exposure to modern theoretical approaches to ancient literature, as well as taking advantage of the interdisciplinary approaches of the faculty.

His current research interests include gender theory, Flavian epic, Roman Declamation, and the intersections between Hip Hop and the ancient world.
