My road towards Classics has been a bit of an adventure. I started my studies in engineering and science, not quite knowing Classics was a thing. By means of several twists and turns I ended up being fascinated by philosophy and ancient literature and am now starting my graduate work at UCSB. I received a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. I then went on to study as a post-baccalaureate student in the University of Iowa. These places have played fundamental roles in shaping my interests and in cementing my love for Classics. I am particularly interested in the formation of ethical structures as they arise from myth and literature. I am happy to be a part of the Classics Department at UCSB and look forward to learning and sharing as part of this academic community.
